If you’ve been arrested, or you think that you or a friend or relative might be, we can help. The experience can be very stressful for the person concerned and their family, so having the right person on your side is crucial.
The Police (or other investigative bodies) will usually conduct an interview, under caution, after arrest or on a voluntary basis. At the interview, you are entitled to independent legal advice, which is often free under the legal aid scheme. It is important to obtain legal advice immediately so that a lawyer can assess the evidence, advise on all the options and be present when the interview takes place.
We provide an essential service to our clients of advice and representation throughout the investigation process, including attending at Police Stations when our clients are arrested and detained; interviews under caution, identification procedures, warrants of further detention and advise on rights relating to release on pre-charge bail.

If you have been charged with a criminal offence, you will have been given a date to appear at the Magistrates’ Court. More serious cases are then sent to the Crown Court for trial or sentence.
